In the stamp trade since 1983, full time since 1993. At current address in Sapporo since 2000. I used to do mail order and the show circuit, but the emergence of broadband services and flat rates alongside with a sharp decrease in show attendance numbers due to gerontocratic management has made me move to the internet. Visitors to Sapporo are welcome to call for an appointment.
Zahlungsbedingungen
Buyers from Japan may use any method available for transactions within Japan, no PayPal.
Buyers from Euro zone countries may use IBAN / BIC transfers to our German account, make a postal giro transfer to our Japanese postal giro account, or send cash. No PayPal.
Buyers from all other countries may use PayPal, US$ checks on US monetary institutions located stateside, cash and US green or international postal money orders. For PayPal, we require a feedback record of at least 100 and no chargeback record. Any chargeback will be treated as malicious and referred to appropriate authorities. We reserve the right to decline PayPal payments at our discretion.
Versandinformationen
We ship within 48 hours of receiving cleared payment. For PayPal, this means about 7 days, because we first need to transfer the funds irreversably to our US bank account.
Shipping is usually by air mail (no customs label required), EMS (customs label required), or registered air mail (no customs label required). Within Japan, we ship by ordinary mail or EXPACK.
Rücknahmebedingungen
We accept returns within 7 days of receipt, but only if mailed 30 days after closing. We will refund the purchase price plus return postage. In case of damage in transit caused by inadequate packing on the way back to Japan, all rights to a refund will be forfeited. A post office report will be obtained to give evidence.

Why restrictions on PayPal?
1) PayPal is not free. IBAN / BIC transfers, cash, checks and postal giro transfers are free.
2) PayPal is risky for sellers. Buyers in some countries abuse the system to make up for losses in the mailstream while refusing to pay for registered or insured mail. A chargeback can lead to an account being frozen all over.
3) Merchant providers give sellers an opportunity to fight illegal and / or malicious chargebacks. PayPal doesn't. Their so-called seller protection policy doesn't cover sellers in most countries outside the US, leaving sellers fully exposed.
4) If you don't want to take the risk, why should we?
5) Folks who don't read and / or respect terms of business are more likely than others to initiate a chargeback to make up for their own mistakes.
6) We consider an expensive and risky option as an option in case no other options are available. It's definitely not our favorite way of getting paid.
Where else do I sell?
I am listing hundreds of lots every week on Yahoo Japan, using two IDs. You need to be able to read Japanese and / or have a Japanese browser installed. Total combined feedback is almost 4,000 with no negs and 3 neuts, with over 20,000 successful transactions and lots of repeat buyers. Since Yahoo Japan has its own, very safe and reliable card settlement system (free for sellers), questions about PayPal don't even come close to being asked... ;-). It's extremely difficult to use Yahoo Japan outside the country - if you sign up, you need to confirm that you are able to speak, read and write Japanese and register a Japanese bank account as part of the ID verification process. So with hurdles that high, this can't be considered PR ... ;-).
